JJ Redick alerted to ‘light fire’ under LeBron James and Lakers squad after Pistons loss
JJ Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers fell 115-103 to the Detroit Pistons prompting harsh criticism of Lakers star LeBron James.
JJ Redick urged to motivate LeBron James
JJ Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers are on the back foot after a strong start to the season. The team fell short in a 115-103 loss to the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons finished last season with the worst record in the league, and a loss in Detroit was unexpected from a Lakers team with championship hopes. One of the core issues in the loss was LeBron James’ lackluster offense.
Veteran NBA analyst and well-known LeBron James ‘fan’ Skip Bayless was quick to call out LeBron James’ offensive woes. Bayless took to X to criticize the Lakers for their unexpected loss against the Pistons. He called for Lakers HC JJ Redick to motivate James and ‘light a fire’ under the team.
Skip Bayless has been critical of LeBron James for many years. He called for the 39-year-old James to take on more responsibility on the offensive end of the ball. LeBron James finished Monday night’s game with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. While King James filled up the stat sheet, the Laker’s late-game offense was unable to fire, allowing the Pistons to steal the game.
LeBron's Lakers just failed to show up and lost at Detroit by 12. Crushed on the boards, 55-37. Pistons: 17 offensive boards. Just inexcusable. Hey, JJ, gotta light a fire under your squad.

JJ Redick, on the other hand, was more concerned about the defensive side of the ball. The Lakers HC revealed his ‘disappointment’ after the game. He urged the team to pick up the intensity on the defensive end.
Paul George praises JJ Redick for Lakers coaching job
JJ Redick has been under the pump ever since he decided to take the Lakers HC position. Coaching in the City of Angels is no small feat. After a strong start to the season, the team has stumbled to a 4-3 record during their recent road trip. However, Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George took to his podcast to share some strong praise for Redick.
Paul George knows the pressure of playing under the bright lights of Los Angeles. The star played 5 seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers before signing with the Sixers in the offseason. He praised JJ Redick for his ability to find support from the Lakers superstar duo.
PG spoke to JJ Redick before he took the Lakers job & knew he'd make for a great head coach.

While the recent bumps have diminished a strong start to the Lakers season, Redick and the crew will look to get back on track. The Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday to cap off a 5 game road trip. They will then return home to face George and the 76ers in Los Angeles on Friday.
