The Los Angeles Lakers have found themselves in all sorts of problems in the NBA 2024-25 season. After making a promising start, the Lakers have performed ‘terribly’ in their last few matchups. In their most recent game against the Miami Heat, the Lakers lost by a 41-point blowout (93-134) at the Kaseya Center. This left the NBA community as well as Lakers head coach JJ Redick stunned.

Before this loss, it was NBA superstar LeBron James, who went through a slump of poor performances. James’ slump appears to be over. On Wednesday night, the seasoned superstar scored 29 points, dishing out eight assists, and pulling down five rebounds. However, it wasn’t enough to say the least. Regarding their loss, Lakers HC, Redick shared his views post-game.

There has to be some ownership. I think when a group is not performing well … It’s easy to not want the ownership, particularly when it’s embarrassing. I’m embarrassed, we’re all embarrassed… There has to be some ownership on the court and I’ll take all the ownership in the world.

Redick further claimed that ‘he can’t physically’ organize games, pointing towards players to take some ‘ownership on the court.’ This is because their stars James and Anthony Davis were left exposed by the Heat attackers, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, and Kevin Love.

As for the Heat, with his scorching 31 points (11-19 FG), Herro led the scoring. In addition to Bam Adebayo‘s 14 points (6-8 FG), 10 rebounds, and seven assists, Jimmy Butler provided 17 points (8-12 FG). JJ Redick has work cut out for him to salvage this season for the Lakers. Meanwhile, an outspoken critic issued a ruthless response to Redick’s woes.

Skip Bayless throws shade at JJ Redick after Lakers blowout loss

In Los Angeles, things have become worse. Four of the Los Angeles Lakers’ previous seven games have been losses of 20 points or more. Losing is one thing, but being continuously blown out is quite another. With their most recent loss, one thing was certain: immense criticism from the NBA world. Former ESPN and FS1 host Skip Bayless chimed in on the Lakers’ loss, aiming a jab toward Lakers head coach, JJ Redick.
