Los Angeles Lakers player Jaxon Hayes has found himself in hot water after a ‘disturbing footage’ of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Sofia Jamora emerged. The video was released by TMZ recently and showcased a five-minute-long confrontation between Hayes and Jamora.
This has led to the NBA re-opening an investigation over domestic violence, which does not look good for Hayes and the Lakers. The team’s head coach JJ Redick chose not to go into the details and stated that they would fully cooperate with the investigation.

In the footage released by TMZ, Hayes can be seen entering the residence and acting abusively toward his frightened ex-girlfriend. Although the specifics of what had transpired at the time were unknown, this footage does suggest that Hayes probably needed restraint.
Hayes joined the Lakers in 2023 and was playing for the New Orleans Pelicans at the time of the incident. It remains to be seen how this situation unfolds in the coming weeks/months.
Jaxon Hayes made a bold assertion regarding Lakers head coach JJ Redick
Jaxon Hayes had everything going for him until his 2021 incident came to light. Hayes had even revealed that he shared a great bond with Lakers boss JJ Redick. He claimed in an interview that the two ‘spoke to each other’ after Redick was announced as the Lakers head coach.
However, things have now turned sour for Hayes and the Lakers star’s NBA career could potentially come to an end. It remains unclear whether Redick has reached out to Hayes regarding this issue.
