JJ Redick was ‘P*SSED’ in locker room after first coaching defeat in NBA
Los Angeles Lakers HC JJ Redick was reportedly heated in the locker room following his first career coaching loss against the Phoenix Suns.
JJ Redick has led the Lakers to a 3-0 record
JJ Redick has rightfully been termed a basketball ‘sicko’ by fans of the league. The man eats, sleeps, and spits the game for breakfast. So it was on brand to see Redick’s reaction following the Los Angeles Lakers’ first loss of the season. The Lakers HC stormed the locker room, fuming at his team for the result of the game.
The passion JJ Redick has for the game was on display all over last night’s game. From cussing out the team for stagnant offense, to heated exchanges, Redick was on it all. It was finally the team’s decision to deliberately miss a free throw that sealed their fate last night. Following the game, many players from the Lakers locker room described the emotions their coach showed after the loss.
LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura all spoke to how pissed off JJ Redick was in the locker room postgame after the loss.

Lakers guard Austin Reaves also spoke about the loss following the game. He especially addressed the response from JJ Redick to the rest of the team. While the first-time head coach was obviously unhappy with his first loss, he made sure to communicate well with his team. Here’s what Reaves had to say about Redick’s emotions.
Austin Reaves speaks highly of JJ Redick:

Even though the Lakers suffered their first loss, the team will surely find encouragement in their coach’s demeanor following the game. Redick has been phenomenal for the team to start the season. The revamped Lakers offense has been the highlight so far, and it was the team’s lack of execution on the offensive end of the ball that ultimately damned them against the Suns.
JJ Redick provides update after LeBron James’ forgettable night
LeBron James had a night that he’d rather forget sooner than later. The Lakers superstar ended the game with just 11 points and a -17 plus-minus while on the court. He was subject to much criticism from the media and from fans for his stinker on court. However, Lakers HC JJ Redick came to the rescue of his star player, providing the reason for his off night.
The Lakers HC gave a blunt analysis of the outcome of the game and what created difficulties for James. Redick emphasized that the additional attention that the Suns gave to their paint defense created difficulties for the Lakers and LeBron James.
For reference, the Lakers led the league in points in the paint last season and are in the top five this season as well. Seems like Suns HC Mike Budenholzer had gone through the scouting report on the Lakers with great detail.
