JJ Redick gets honest about 39-year-old LeBron James shutting down ‘load management’
JJ Redick shared that he would love to have LeBron James for all the 82 games of the season amid load management speculations.
JJ Redick comments on LeBron's load management rumors.
The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a hot start, capping off their third victory already. The team is experiencing one of their best starts in decades with an undefeated 3-0 record after beating the Sacramento Kings. Following a positive route, the team faces new controversy with LeBron James’ load management rumors floating around.
Recently, James made a staggering statement of his plan to play all 82 games. This sparked chatter among the league’s media as the Lakers star is known to sit out games regularly. Lakers head coach JJ Redick quickly put a halt to these rumors from further extension.
For context, James only appeared for 71 games last season due to injuries and load management complications. The last time he played a full 82-game season was back in the 2017-18 season. Whether the organization will comply with the star’s wishes is still unknown, but his minutes are likely to be monitored.
JJ Redick on LeBron James' stated intention to play every game this season: "Most players go into a season wanting to play 82 games. So if that's what he wants to do, great. I love it. I would love to have him for 82. We'll manage the minutes accordingly."

Although injuries and body management are crucial factors, the team will be in dire need of the 39-year-old. The organization’s title hope is alive as long as James can suit up for games. Through three games played by the Lakers, King James has shown his production to be irreplaceable even at his age.
‘Father Time’ seems to be a non-factor for LeBron James
Following the 131-127 win against the Kings, James has already logged 69 points for the season. Out of that, he recorded 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists for the game. To add more flair to the story, James’ recent performance is his 113th career triple-double.
Father time doesn’t seem to affect the 39-year-old superstar as LeBron James continues his offensive production, which is still one of the best in the league. With new additions to the team, his son Bronny James and Redick seem to have ignited old flames in James. As the 20-time All-Star is looking for another shot at a championship, his performance will be the deciding factor.
LeBron James is the first player in NBA history to record a single quarter with:

The Lakers will be packing their bags for a 5-game road trip ending in Memphis. This could be a litmus test for the Lakers organization on how they want to manage their aging superstar. However, barring any injury-related setbacks, there have been no signs of slowing down for the ‘King’.
