Luka Doncic and JJ Redick
All eyes were on Friday night’s Game 3 following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ domination in Game 1 and the Los Angeles Lakers’ recovery well in Game 2 to even the series. However, Lakers court reporter Mike Trudell disclosed midway into the first quarter that Luka Doncic is battling an unforeseen sickness that he contracted earlier in the day.
To make matters worse, the Lakers suffered a harsh loss against the Timberwolves away from home. The likes of Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels outperformed stars like LeBron James and Luka Doncic. However, JJ Redick does think that Doncic’s sickness played a crucial role in his sides loss during the post-match presser.
Luka Doncic hasn’t been feeling well for the last 24 hours. He was vomiting all afternoon.

Throughout the game, Doncic’s performance was subpar, recording a mere 17 points. He has been playing bravely on the court, but when he is on the Lakers’ bench, it is obvious that his condition is bothering him. Throughout the first two matches of the series, Doncic has been the driving force behind Los Angeles’s offense, scoring 37 points in Game 1 and 27 more in Game 2.
The story is different on Friday night, though. In his absence, his teammates James and shooting guard Austin Reaves took over offensively. But their performances went in vain as the Timberwolves outclassed them on the home court.
Both Redick and the Lakers fanbase will be hoping that their star recovers in time for Game 4, as they will be looking to level this series. All eyes now drift onto Luka Doncic and Co. to secure an importan win in their upcoming matchup.

Redick will be hoping his stars Doncic and Redick reach full fitness as soon as possible in a bid to overcome the Timberwolves. Notably, both James and Doncic have participated in all three of their first-round playoff games. However, they have showed signs of struggling on the court. Something that has to be tackled by the staff.
JJ Redick shared his take on the ‘road playoff games’
Before his first playoffs game in an adverse atmosphere as an NBA head coach, JJ Redick was unabashed about his fondness of road playoff games. Ahead of the Game 3 matchup, Redick made a huge statement about the game during the pre-match press conference.
Given that he has played in the NBA for 15 seasons, Redick was asked what he enjoyed most about playing postseason basketball away from home. Road players undoubtedly like to silence a boisterous crowd, but Redick took it a step further.
Just the feeling you get of people hating you and yelling at you and getting the opportunity to silence them, but also kind of ruin their day. They pay all that money, they wore their T-shirt, grabbed their towel …

However, Redick got a taste of his own medicine, as the Timberwolves stood tall agianst his Lakers side in Game 3. For the Lakers HC, he still has to experience the feeling of winning on the road during the playoffs. Now, Redick and his boys will be looking to get that feeling in the upcoming Game 4 of this series.
