The NBA GOAT debate is something that would go on for hours, and there would still be no definitive winner. Recently, JJ Redick, the former NBA player, stirred some controversy when he downplayed the achievement of Michael Jordan in the NBA during a podcast episode with Shaquille O’Neal.

Redick does not believe Michael Jordan did anything great in his time. He also stated that Jordan’s era was a ‘watered down era,’ which consisted of 90 NBA players back then. On the other hand, he also praised LeBron James’ journey in the NBA until now. However, the comments regarding Michael Jordan did not go well with Eddie A Johnson.

So says a guy who was 6 years old when the 90’s started! We would have tested your manhood quickly! If anything you would have been relegated to serving water to the veterans until you manned up. Analytic brain would have ran you out the league in the 90’s.

Eddie Johnson is a former NBA star who played for various NBA teams like Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns back in his time. Johnson became another old player who took serious offense to how people like JJ Redick downplayed the ’90s basketball. In the past, Charles Barkley also attacked Redick for his controversial takes on 90’s basketball.

The NBA has seen many great players come and go throughout the years, but some have surely left a stamp on the league in different eras. As such, Johnson took issues with Redick’s comment. It remains to be seen whether Reddick responds to Eddie A Johnson’s harsh words regarding him. Moreover, Jordan is not the only player to have received such a harsh remark from Redick.

When JJ Reddick ridiculed NBA legend Bob Cousy

After retiring, JJ Redick has become one of the most intriguing and entertaining media figures to listen to in the NBA. This is because his appearances on ESPN consistently provide the NBA community with new and contentious subjects to debate.

In 2022, JJ Reddick went berserk at the NBA legend Bob Cousy in a fiery debate with Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on ESPN. Russo and Redick were debating about Chris Paul‘s legacy in the NBA in which Russo claimed Bob Cousy was better than Paul.

This did not go well with JJ as he quickly ranted about the Celtics legend.

However, the comments of Redick quickly went viral and were a topic for the NBA community to hop on. At the time, the NBA world took the comments as disrespectful, with other legendary players mocking the opinion of the retired player. Redick always finds himself involved in some controversy or the other and it will not stop anytime soon.
