Xavi Hernandez‘s unexpected dismissal from FC Barcelona came as a shock for the football community as a whole. While it had initially been announced that Xavi will be leaving the club at the end of the season, club President Joan Laporta and the management had convinced him to stay.
However, in a surprising U-turn, Laporta decided that Xavi’s time at the club was up! Now that the dust has settled, the President came forward to give some much needed insight as to why he made the ‘shocking’ decision.

Xavi told me that he trusted this team, but some of his comments made me feel like he changed his stance. This made me rethink and felt that I needed to bring about change. This was also shared by the board.Joan Laporta said in an interview
Shortly after Xavi’s dismissal, the club brought in former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick. The German is a shrewd tactician and a sextuple winner with Bayern.
Flick’s first game in charge will be a club friendly against Manchester City after the Euros.
Potential signings Hansi Flick could make at Barcelona
The arrival of Hansi Flick at Barcelona gives fans a reason to be excited about the future. It wasn’t long ago that the 59-year-old coached an 8-2 win against his current team with Bayern Munich. Despite Real Madrid’s recent signing of Kylian Mbappe, Culers are optimistic that Flick can orchestrate important signings to compete with the Los Blancos.

The majority of players include his former players at Bayern, starting from Joshua Kimmich to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Joshua Zirkzee. Another player from the Bundesliga is Jeremie Frimpong, who recently won the League title playing for Xabi Alonso‘s Bayer Leverkusen.
Another surprising yet probable target is Manchester City winger Bernardo Silva. Both Kimmich and Silva have been long-term targets for the Spaniards. The arrival of Flick may be the final element that brings both of the stars to the club. As of now, Flick is yet to make his first signing as Barcelona coach.
