Joaquin Buckley gave his view on a comparison between his knockout and “The Showtime kick”
Joaquin Buckler won the knockout of the year award after a ninja-style spinning kick knockout against Impa Kasanganay on October 2020. Buckley is on a two fight winning streak.
Buckley was involved in an interview on Fight Island about his knockout and he jokingly said that in 10 years he might get tired of answering people about his KO. People were comparing his knockout to the legendary “Showtime kick” of Anthony Pettis.
When Buckley was asked about the same he commented “I got the knockout. That’s all I gotta say.” It is only natural for him to enjoy all the attention he’s getting and obviously enough this puts him in a spotlight and if he keeps on performing like this then he might turn into a big name pretty soon.
Buckley is booked to fight Alessio Di Chirico later this night and he is certainly not over-looking this challenge. The Italian Alessio is on a three-fight skid but he is still dangerous inside the octagon.
Buckley was affected by the hate on social media
In the interview he said “I let the social media, pretty much the haters from the comments and the DMs get to me a little bit and it added more pressure to try to deliver. “I let the social media, pretty much the haters from the comments and the DMs get to me a little bit and it added more pressure to try to deliver

But these things are all in the past and he is looking to give another blockbuster performance in his next fight and then he can start his title run.
