Joaquin Niemann has been on a heater this season in LIV Golf. On Sunday, during the LIV Golf UK event, the Chilean golfer clinched his 5th win of the season. However, his win once again failed to impress the golf fans on social media.

Following a T23 finish at LIV Golf Andalucia in Spain, Niemann was one of the 8 LIV Golfers who missed the cut at the 153rd Open Championship last week. He fired scores of 70 and 74 and missed the cutline of 1-over par with one shot.

At the LIV Golf UK event from the JCB Golf & Country Club, Great Britain, Niemann once again started strong and made 6 birdies in the opening round to card a score of 65.

He extended his dominance in Round 2 with a stunning performance. The Torque GC Captain made 9 birdies on Saturday. Despite one bogey on the 15th hole, Niemann finished the round with a score of 8-under par and found himself in touching distance of the trophy.

He had some competition from 2-time Masters champion Bubba Watson on the final day. As the RangeGoats GC captain kept on chasing him, Niemann carded 5 birdies and 2 bogeys on Sunday to finish the tournament 17-under par, 3 shots ahead of Watson.

After winning at the LIV Golf Adelaide and LIV Golf Singapore events, the 26-year-old tied Brooks Koepka for the most wins in LIV Golf history (5) with a victory at LIV Golf Mexico. He then won the LIV Golf Virginia event to move ahead of Koepka for the most wins on the 54-hole circuit.

He would then have back-to-back T23 finishes at the LIV Golf Dallas and LIV Golf Andalucia events. His 5th win of the year extends his lead at the top of the individual standings by 37 points.

Golf fans on social media, though, were not impressed with his win. Once again, they took a swipe at him and his league and belittled his triumph. One user on X wrote, “Means nothing” while reacting to his win and making their feelings known.

Check out that and some other reactions regarding this development from X below:

Niemann had some mixed performances at the major championships this year. At the Masters Tournament, he finished T29 with an even par score for the tournament. A month later at the PGA Championship, he finished T8 with a score of 4-under par.

He then missed the cut at the U.S. Open while carding scores of 75 in both Round 1 and Round 2. With his missed cut last week, he made the cut in two events and missed the cut in the other two events.

Joaquin Niemann edges Scottie Scheffler in earnings during 2025 season

While he has had mixed performances at the major championships, Joaquin Niemann has been one of the top players this year. Following his win on Sunday, he edged out Scottie Scheffler in total earnings during the 2025 season.

Scheffler, the World No.1, clinched his 2nd major title of the 2025 season as he won the Open Championship at Royal Portrush. Along with his triumph at the PGA Championship, Scheffler has made around $19.2 million.

Niemann has made more money than Scheffler despite not having his best game in the majors. The 5 wins on the LIV Golf circuit have seen him make over $21.2 million. That is around $2 million more than the top ranked player in the world.

After two more events, Niemann will turn his attention to the individual championship of LIV Golf. As for Scheffler, he is on top of the FedEx Cup standings and will be hoping to go back-to-back as the FedEx Cup champion.
