Heading into the upcoming 2024 season, the Buffalo Bills are shaping the entire offense around star quarterback Josh Allen but at the same time, have made sure that he doesn’t feel overburdened with the team’s responsibilities considering the pressure of the signal-caller position. In other words, the Bills appeared to be using a balanced approach with Allen as Offensive coordinator, Joe Brady has stated.
During a recent appearance on the Centered on Buffalo podcast hosted by former Bills player Eric Wood, Brady talked about the strategies and game plan for the upcoming season which largely comprises making things easier for quarterback Allen. He claimed that the All-Pro quarterback is going to make plays no one else can, but not in every game.
Josh is, you know, a great quarterback, but just seeing his thirst of wanting to get better. When you show him clips that he might have made an incredible play right here, but you didn't have to make an incredible play. Like, how can we make it easier for you? You're going to make plays that nobody in this world can do, but we don't need you to do that every single snap.Joe Brad told Centered on Buffalo
Brady claimed that the team and coaching staff are trying to make things easier for the Pro Bowler quarterback so that when the important situation calls for him to lift the team on his shoulder, he can do that with his best potential.
Josh Allen prioritizes communication with new Bills receivers
Since the departure of star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Bills are focusing on the receiving corps especially Allen, who has improved his communication with them, in order to, avoid another locker room conflict. The quarterback also believes this way, he can form a better pairing with them and know that they all are on the same page while performing on the football field.
To me, the biggest thing was about just cleaning up the detail and the execution just making sure we are all on the same page with our splits and Josh's eyes.Joe Brady said about Josh Allen’s approach towards the receiving corps
Brady also revealed that the Bills are focusing on the run game more, especially after how the opposing defenses targetted their offense. The team is expected to rely on the ground game again in the first few weeks of the upcoming season.
