When any fan of football talks about probable Super Bowl favorites, the Cincinnati Bengals are somewhere at the top of their lists. With superstar quarterback Joe Burrow leading a team with a good mixture of star players and experienced veterans, they have the correct mixture to upset the Kansas City Chiefs. But after starting this season 0-3, many questions have come to the fore.
In their latest show, the panel of First Take took up this discussion. As the debate started and others pointed at Joe Burrow, former Super Bowl champion Chris Canty brought up several instances from the Bengals’ past.
What he was trying to say is that Burrow is 1-3 this season, something no other star quarterback in the league has done. That is because he feels it is down to how the Cincinnati Bengals are as a franchise.

His logic was based on the fact that multiple players who were part of the Bengals went on to have success with other teams. Chris Canty further suggested that there is a reason why the Bengals have not won a Super Bowl since their inception. More importantly, they rank in the bottom half among all NFL teams to appear in the playoffs.
He feels the franchise does not have the winning culture in them, which rubs off on players and is evident from the lack of fight from them. Else they would have at least an even record. They lost games they could have won and don’t look like Super Bowl contenders now. Despite having a QB like Joe Burrow.
Joe Burrow and Cincinnati Bengals have an uphill task to reach playoffs
The Cincinnati Bengals play in the hotly-contested AFC. With their current 1-3 record, they face an uphill task if they are to reach the playoffs.
The teams at the top of the conference are running away, whereas there are teams in the middle of the pack who are just starting to find their rhythm. If they take off, it will be even more difficult for the Bengals.
They only have one choice remaining. That is, they have to win at least 11 of their remaining 13 games. Only then can they assure themselves of a chance to battle in the postseason. Not an easy task considering their struggles and the fact that they will face other playoff hopefuls down the line.
If they do not reach the playoffs, it will be another season lost for Joe Burrow. They reached the Super Bowl during his rookie contract period. Now, with his massive contract hanging on their heads, their chances will be that much harder going forward.
