The Cincinnati Bengals may be going through a challenging phase in terms of results, but there’s no denying that they have accumulated a strong team. It’s taken a long time for the Bengals to build a good roster and now that they finally have it, quarterback Joe Burrow demands the front office to pay those good players.
Appearing on the non-Pro Bowl Pro Bowl Games by ESPN, the Bengals star quarterback addressed the ongoing contract negotiation of his teammate, Ja’Marr Chase, who’s seeking a long-term contract with the team. Burrow stands by the veteran wide receiver, arguing that he has proven himself more than deserving of a lucrative contract.
Bengals QB Joe Burrow on ESPN on Ja’Marr Chase’s upcoming contract negotiation: “I don’t know what more he could show and do to prove himself. We have several guys like that, who have stepped up for us, and deserve to be paid—deserve to be paid what they’re worth.”

This isn’t the first time the signal-caller has supported his teammates for a contract extension. He has previously expressed confidence that Chase and wide receiver Tee Higgins shall be rewarded by Cincinnati for their contributions to the team.
Bengals prioritize Joe Burrow’s teammate Ja’Marr Chase’s contract extension
Burrow has never failed to demonstrate true leadership, both on and off the field. That’s why, whenever his teammates have needed him, he has always stood by them. Whether be it appreciating them with gifts or advocating for deserving extensions for them before the front office, Burrow has never minced his words when it comes to taking a stand.
Fortunately for Chase, the team appears to be on the same page. After the Bengals and the veteran wideout failed to reach an agreement in 2024, the franchise director of player personnel Duke Tobin called it a “priority” in his conversation with Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway.
Interestingly, Chase’s projection for the expected contract has risen by $25 million since last year, according to Spotrac. After his historic season that made his case for future Hall of Fame, he is projected to earn $145 million for a four-year contract with $100 million guaranteed, which was down to $120 million and $46 million guaranteed last year.
