The NFL is on high alert with strings of burglaries at players’ homes reported within the past couple of months. The latest victim of a break-in was the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
During the Bengals’ visit to Arlington to play against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, unknown individuals broke into Burrow’s home. The Bengals’ win over the Cowboys took a backseat while the robbery became a hot topic of discussion in the country.
Naturally, everyone wanted to hear from Burrow, and their wish came true when the Pro Bowler faced the camera on Wednesday from the Bengals facility. The 28-year-old made it clear that he wasn’t too keen on speaking freely about the incident, but he had no other option but to respond to questions from the media.
So obviously everybody has heard what has happened. I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one. And way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share, so that’s all I got to say about that.
Joe Burrow told the reporters

Why doesn’t Joe Burrow want to talk about the burglary incident at his home?
The incident was first reported by a swimsuit model whom Burrow hired to take care of his property while he was away for the game. According to TMZ, Olivia Ponton, a SI Swimsuit model, showed up at Burrow’s house at night and discovered the bedroom window broken from the outside along with the room ransacked with belongings scattered all across the floor.

While it’s unclear, the specific reason for Burrow to be very secretive about the entire ordeal, some reports pointed fingers at Ponton being the reason for his distress.
We live a public life, and one of my least favorite parts of that is the lack of privacy. And that has been difficult for me to deal with my entire career. Still learning. But I understand it’s the life that we choose. Doesn’t make it any easier to deal with.
Joe Burrow said
The emergence of Ponton doesn’t add up. Even though she claimed to be an employee working for Burrow, her involvement in the entire ordeal remains a mystery.
The police haven’t caught any of the perpetrators just yet. In the meantime, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa announced amping up security at his house in light of the burglaries that began with Kansas City Chiefs duo Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, whose houses had a break-in back in October.
