The Cincinnati Bengals’ star quarterback has been quite in the news lately as he is opening up about his struggles with last season’s injury, his goals for the upcoming 2024 season, and his recent modeling debut. Joe Burrow once again gave an insight into his recovery, claiming he feels stronger than ever.

As said before, after sustaining the season-ending wrist injury in week 11 of the 2023 NFL season, Burrow’s offseason began before his peers. This gave him some extra time to work on his recovery and gain full strength.

During his recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, the Pro Bowler quarterback addressed the speculations around his appearance, that he looks much bigger than last year. He confirmed the speculations by revealing he had added around 15 pounds to his weight.

10-15 pounds ish--I feel a lot stronger.
Joe Burrow said about his weight, when asked how much bigger and stronger he has gotten.

Burrow claimed that he feels “120%” stronger than two years back if he was 100% stronger. However, he admitted that he hasn’t been too vigorous with exercises involving his wrist. For instance, he hasn’t done push-ups because it would put a lot of pressure on his wrist. He has focused on throwing the ball and judging from the quarterback’s demeanor talking about his recovery, it appears he is ready for the next season

Joe Burrow dismisses retirement rumors being confident in 10-15 more years

During his interview, the former Heisman Trophy winner also addressed the rumors that he has turned 30 when he still has three sweet years before that. Drafted in 2020 as the No. 1 overall pick, Burrow has been plagued with injuries and that’s the only reason why he hasn’t been able to achieve the achievements of the NFL.

The NFL has often witnessed players retire early due to multiple injuries in their careers. One such example is the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who retired just after seven seasons.

Many suspected the same fate for the Bengals signal-caller as well, but he is just 27 years old and admitted he still has 10 or 15 good years before retirement. Burrow clarified that he is thinking about anything but retirement for his foreseeable future and would see how his career would pan out before commenting on his retirement plans.
