As the days go on, the future of Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow has become one of the most important topics in the National Football League.
At first, his ‘depressed’ comments about his desire to play sent eyebrows rising to the point where many analysts took direct shots at the Bengals for not doing enough to protect their signal caller.
It looked as if he had come to the point in life where he was contemplating leaving the sport altogether. Fans and analysts felt it was better if Burrow forced a move out of Cincinnati.
Then, his leading wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, who has spent the longest time with the 29-year-old QB, stated that he would have a discussion with Burrow about his state of mind.
Even though the 2-time Comeback Player of the Year reiterated his commitment to the Bengals, reporters at their media facilities had to ask Burrow what was going on in his life.
It feels like everybody’s trying to do everything in their power to make me not play football, and I feel like I’m fighting it. Fighting everybody else. I just wanna play ball. That’s all I wanna do.
Joe Burrow replied
He might be referring to the opinions, especially after his toe surgery, and the Bengals being eliminated from the playoffs, that he might as well rest and recover.

Whoever, or whatever collective group of people that is, the quarterback only wants to play football, which happens to be the job that he loves.
Joe Burrow reiterates he will be the Bengals’ starting QB next year
As reporters at the media facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, tried to best extract answers to Joe Burrow‘s current state of mind. One of them asked him if there was any chance he would not be starting for the Bengals next season.
I can’t see that, no.
Joe Burrow replied
This answer should reaffirm his statement this week when he made it clear his reference to his depressed state had nothing to do with the team, and that he will continue to throw passes for them.
However, the reporter then asked Burrow if he had thought about the possibility of leaving the Bengals at some point in time during his career.
You think about a lot of things
Joe Burrow replied

That answer seemingly throws open a chance for the LSU star to maybe leave his current team sometime down the line. He may have 4 more years on his $275 million contract. It could be anytime during or after that period.
Joe Burrow reveals Micah Parsons’ trade opened his eyes to reality
After answering those questions about his future, the reporter pressed Joe Burrow with what he has learnt from the long careers of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, especially amidst the uncertainties in the NFL.

A lot of crazy things happen every year. Micah Parsons got traded right before the season this year. It was something I hadn’t seen in a long time in the NFL, so crazy things can happen.
Joe Burrow replied
This answer indicates that the 2-time Pro Bowler is aware of how business decisions can impact an athlete’s future. Brady and Manning have had to move out of their original teams, which means Burrow might also have to do so.
Then comes the possibility of him being shipped out before he wants to leave the Bengals, which the QB is aware can happen. This means the Iowa native is aware that the next few years could be different from what he had imagined.
