Joe Burrow has BLUNT reply to Bengals not trading for elite receivers like their AFC rivals

Even though there are a few days left for the NFL trade deadline to close, many teams have already made mind-boggling moves. Most importantly for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, it is their AFC rivals who have been active- that too not with small moves, but big ones that have the potential to impact the playoff race.
The moves may not alter the course of the playoff runs of those teams as most are already playing well. It was rather a case of the rich getting richer, such as the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs. But how it alters is that it makes it that much harder for other franchises to try and put their foot in the playoff spots.
One of those other franchises happens to be the Cincinnati Bengals, who are struggling to win games with their existing roster. Without any additions, they could end up languishing in the bottom end of the division and conference standings.
Reporters at the Bengals practice media session put forward this very question to superstar quarterback Joe Burrow. But with a grim look on his face, he answered in the shortest and most uncontroversial way possible.
That’s not my job.

If a body language reader was employed to figure out his actual demeanor, they would suggest that he looked unhappy. Not unhappy that the team did not trade for another elite wideout, as he already has two. But some help on defense and running back could make a difference.
Joe Burrow might not say it, but he needs help
The superstar quarterback is among the top six when it comes to passing yards and the top three in passing touchdowns. So, the passing game is not a problem, as was evident in some of the games where he went ballistic in trying to rally and win games. But that is all the Bengals have going so far.

Their running game is one of the worst in the league and has caused them a lot of headaches. Even then, the team has not made any efforts to make changes. Without a complimentary running game, opposition defenses have a field day defending the passing game.
Their defense paints a similar picture, allowing an average of over 25 points per game. Not the best way to play against teams, especially those that have added offensive weapons to their already elite squads.
The AFC is going to be a slugfest between the heavy hitters. If the Cincinnati Bengals make a move or two, they could potentially join that battle. Else, Joe Burrow and his teammates could be looking at a disappointing end to their season.
