The Cincinnati Bengals’ star quarterback is well aware of the ups and downs of stardom in the NFL and given the number of games he missed last season due to his serious wrist injury, he knows some people have forgotten him. But instead of distressing over it, Joe Burrow is actually motivated by it.

It took him time, but Burrow is recovered now and focusing on his health above all. However, he is also a multitasker– which is part of the job description of being a quarterback. So while focusing on staying active in all games in the coming season, the quarterback is also driven to remind people why he is enlisted among the top five quarterbacks in the league.

During his recent appearance on Pardon My Take, the elite signal-caller answered with a “time will tell” when asked about where he stands among the top athletes of all time. He also opened up about his personal goals for the 2024 NFL season, asserting he intends to prove his capabilities after sitting out seven games last season.

I believe that. That’s what happens when you get hurt, though. You don’t play football, people forget about you... If you’re not out there and people aren’t watching you, then there’s nothing to talk about. I’m going to give people something to talk about this year. I’m excited about it.

The only thing that has prevented the Bengals quarterback from reaching his full potential has been injuries, which not only slowed him down but also put a non-reliable addition to his team.

Joe Burrow reflects on tough sideline stint after wrist injury

Last year, Burrow suffered two injuries– one was the season-ending wrist injury in the middle of the season. But the other one he sustained before the 2023 regular season in the training camp when he re-strained his calf. Fortunately, he didn’t have to miss any games because of that.

But the injuries did impact his mental health. During his interview, he also opened up about how tough it was for him to be on the sidelines with his injured wrist.

I couldn't throw and I couldn't do my job, but I could still grind in the weight room and get all my workouts in. And so my offseason started 10-12 weeks earlier than everybody else's

That’s one of the reasons why the quarterback is focusing on staying active in all games in 2024 before aiming for the Super Bowl. He first wants to get back into his form and lead the Bengals to the playoffs in a strong position.
