Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will play in their 4th consecutive AFC championship game on Sunday as they prepare to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. They survived a late scare from the Buffalo Bills in what may go down as the greatest playoff game of all time earlier this week.
Mahomes’ magic was in full force in their divisional-round matchup as the young superstar miraculously got his team into field goal range in just 9 seconds to kick the game-tying points at time expired in the 4th quarter. The success of Mahomes is something that while is adored, is perhaps equally hated upon. Success breeds hate and this certainly isn’t news in the NFL but there are a lot of fans that don’t quite like the Chiefs for reasons besides their winning habits.
Twitter reacts as Patrick Mahomes was embarassed by his wife’s celebration
The Chiefs were bound to have their fair share of haters and that’s something that’s just acceptable. However, their celebrations, particularly Mahomes’ family is what tends to grab the spotlight and cause more uproar from fans and they let their feelings be clear on Twitter after seeing the Kansas City Chiefs’ unbelievable win.
In her celebration of the win, Matthews decided to open a bottle of champagne and spray it down on the people below her. The people who had sat through the game in freezing temperatures while she stayed in a heated suite and had no weather issues. Those are the people that she decided to drench and felt no concern in doing so.
All of the internet will be closely watching Matthews next weekend and if the Bengals get a win, expect Twitter to absolutely blow up.
