Despite nearing his 40th birthday, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Joe Flacco isn’t ready to hang up his cleats just yet. According to a source familiar with his plans, the veteran signal-caller fully intends to return for the 2025 NFL season.
Flacco’s continued passion for the game is evident in his recent performances. He continues to be the Colts quarterback while Anthony Richardson is dealing with a back injury. In Week 17, he threw for an impressive 330 yards, completing 26 of 38 passes in a hard-fought loss to the New York Giants.
His ability to step up when called upon has been a hallmark of his late-career contributions. Just last season, he came out of retirement in November to lead the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs, proving he still has what it takes to compete at a high level.
The reality of today’s NFL is simple—teams need experienced quarterbacks. Flacco’s resume speaks for itself, with a Super Bowl XLVII MVP award and the distinction of having twice been the league’s highest-paid player. The current season has been criticized by the fans for not promoting young quarterback development, a trend seen with Anthony Richardson and Bryce Young.
One of the striking qualities of Flacco is his humbleness. The 40-year-old remains humble and pragmatic about his role, showing no hesitation in accepting backup duties to extend his career. As quarterback demand continues to grow, Flacco’s leadership, poise, and experience make him a valuable asset for any team looking to bolster its depth under center.
Joe Flacco’s Indianapolis Colts finish out the season with a meaningless game against the Jagaurs
The Indinanapolis Colts didn’t have the same outcome that the Cleveland Browns had last year. Joe Flacco is not winning any comeback player of the year as he remains 1-4 as a starter this season. In the game last week, the New York Giants pulled off an upset against the Indianapolis Colts at their home turf.

The loss meant that the Colts and Joe Flacco fell out of the playoff race. The Colts had an opening after the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Denver Broncos to keep the latter’s playoff drought eliminating win since a very long time.
However, the loss removed their name off the board in the AFC. Now, they’ll face the Jacksonville Jaguars in the last game in Week 18. The Jaguars are in much worser shape winning only four wins all around the season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have more to lose for. They are now in prime position to pick in the first round. In the absence of a strong quarterback, the Jaguars have succumbed to being one of the slowest offensive in the league right now.
