UFC color commentator Joe Rogan hosts one of the most well-known podcast shows in the world, where he explores a variety of fascinating topics. In a recent episode, Rogan invited comedian and actor Bryan Callen to discuss combat sports. At one point during the conversation, they acknowledged the undisputed unified light heavyweight boxing champion, Artur Beterbiev.

Interestingly, the Russian-born light heavyweight boxer Artur Beterbiev has often garnered attention in the boxing community due to his rigorous training regimens. Notably, Joe Rogan highlighted one of Beterbiev’s highly discussed training videos. In that video, the boxer was seen pounding on a tire with a sledgehammer. Both Rogan and Bryan Callen shared their reactions to this intense workout video.

He (Artur Beterbiev) did a hammer workout on a tire where he hit a tire for an hour… he hit a tire for an hour with a sledge hammer… He’s a chechnya but same sh*t, Khamzat Chimaev, savage people, and he’s one of the scariest boxers of all time…

Rogan notably highlighted another fighter from the same region as Beterbiev. UFC middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev also frequently engages in unconventional and demanding training regimes similar to Beterbiev’s. Following this, Rogan reacted to the undefeated light heavyweight boxing champion’s recent boxing match.

In his last fight, 40-year-old Artur Beterbiev faced Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed light heavyweight boxing title. Beterbiev is renowned for his brute strength, and during the fight, he effectively demonstrated this against Bivol, earning commendation from Rogan. While Beterbiev received praise for his performance, the same could not be said for his opponent.

Dmitry Bivol wants ‘revenge’ from Artur Beterbiev

Like Artur Beterbiev, Dmitry Bivol is also one of the prominent boxers in the light heavyweight category. In their fight in 2024, both fighters had a lot at stake, including their world titles and perfect professional boxing records. However, after the judges announced the result in favor of Beterbiev, Bivol and his team were furious. There was significant criticism directed at Bivol after his defeat, even from his ex-wife.

However, the furious camp of the former 34-year-old boxer was not ready to accept the outcome and even went on to file an appeal of the decision. Just a few months after their initial encounter, both Bivol and Beterbiev are set to face each other again. In the weeks leading up to their rematch, the 34-year-old boxer shared his mindset.

I have to be better in all positions. Everything I have to do better. I have to be a better Dmitry Bivol than I was yesterday. Now, I don’t want just the belt. There is something more inside of me. I want revenge. I want to be the winner. I want to [beat] him. I lost, and I don’t like it. I want to win. I want to prove to myself that I could (beat) him.

The rematch between Bivol and Beterbiev is scheduled for February 22 as part of the exciting Riyadh Season fight card. Although the 34-year-old Bivol has expressed his determination to defeat Beterbiev, the 40-year-old remains unbothered by the anticipation surrounding the event. He confidently asserts that his skills will allow him to defeat his fellow countrymen once more.
