Ilia Topuria recently revealed that he was facing serious family issues, forcing him to reconsider his immediate fighting commitments carefully. Reports suggest he is prioritizing his children during a difficult separation with his wife, choosing personal stability over maintaining his championship schedule.

Topuria announced he would step away from fighting temporarily, insisting he does not want to delay contenders or complicate UFC matchmaking decisions. It all began months ago when Ilia Topuria and his ex-wife removed each other’s photos from social media without any explanation.

They previously celebrated his championship victories together publicly, but the sudden changes suggested growing tension and an unexpected shift in their relationship. Topuria later posted subtle online remarks appearing directed at his former partner, Giorgina Uzcategui, fueling speculation about deeper personal conflicts.

Recently, a viral photo showing Uzcategui with a rapper sparked heavy backlash, including criticism from Joe Rogan. The UFC commentator, unaware the image was AI-generated, launched a serious rant, condemning Uzcategui’s supposed behavior on his podcast.

She’s taking photos with rappers. You know how they do it, they try to steal your soul. Hell has no fury like a woman scorned. This is the mother of your children and this lady is a monster.

Fans disliked the situation because Rogan, being extremely influential, often falls prey to misleading AI images that quickly spread online. Nevertheless, the controversy shifted attention toward Ilia Topuria, who recently addressed his ongoing divorce openly through several emotional social media posts.

Topuria explained he preferred transparency, hoping honesty would reduce speculation and allow supporters to understand his complicated personal circumstances more clearly. Several fighters, including Max Holloway and Sean O’Malley, publicly supported his decision, acknowledging the emotional toll of family struggles.

Earlier, a viral Nelk Boys moment showed them joking about finding him a Miami life partner, visibly triggering Topuria during filming. Ironically, that interaction foreshadowed deeper personal issues, reflecting how drastically circumstances have changed for him since that uncomfortable exchange occurred.

At UFC 317, Ilia Topuria shocked everyone by knocking out former UFC champion Charles Oliveira to become the new lightweight king. While there are several speculations about his return, including the first Paramount card, it didn’t turn out that way at all.

Following Ilia Topuria’s announcement that he won’t be able to fight at the inaugural Paramount card, UFC had to find replacements. CEO Dana White didn’t waste much time before announcing the Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett fight for the interim lightweight title. That fight also received backlash as many fans believed Arman Tsarukyan was the more deserving contender for the title.

Tsarukyan didn’t appreciate it but mentioned that he already knew this was going to happen despite his recent win against Dan Hooker. White was also heard saying that he didn’t want to put grapplers in the main event of the Paramount card.

While Topuria would have been the perfect choice given his hype and knockout power, it didn’t go as planned. Nevertheless, here are some reactions to Joe Rogan’s latest insensitive comments on Topuria’s ex-partner AI pictures with a rapper.

As expected, fans took this opportunity to mock Joe Rogan for making the mistake of falling for an AI picture. Many made jokes about the veteran commentator, often making similar mistakes on the internet. Others commented on how hard it is to detect AI in the current day and age of online trolling.
