UFC 315 is a while to come; UFC play-by-play Joe Rogan has plans made already, though. Plans not to go to Canada! Rogan has passed up a chance to commentate for the May 10 PPV card at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Welterweight champ Belal Muhammad will headline the card.
The 170-pound undisputed gold will be up for grabs when Belal Muhammad meets Jack Della Maddalena. ‘Remember the Name’ won the gold in a Manchester PPV headlining affair at UFC 304 last July. He was to return for UFC 310, but there were complications (plural). Now, during his UFC London Fight Companion podcast, Rogan said he doesn’t want to take a Canada trip for Muhammad’s maiden defense at the UFC 315 pay-per-view main event.
I won’t be there, …I don’t go to Canada anymore. I don’t — I’d rather go to Russia.

Joe Rogan often only performs PPV play-by-play duties for stateside events only (barring one extravehicular trip on his wishlist). However, Cold Canada isn’t it for the UFC color commentator. He often doesn’t like traveling far from Austin to commentate.
Going to Canada wouldn’t be incredibly lengthy. However, given the current geopolitical landscape in North America, Rogan doesn’t sound interested in traveling there. If cold were the criteria, the veteran podcaster might as well go to Russia! However, he might be under strict watch after subscribing to anti-Putin texts to train a techie for a bloodsport against the Russian!
As for the UFC 315 fight card and PPV lineup, Belal Muhammad would have to do with others and hope they ‘Remember the Name‘ this time. Commentary and roving reporter lineups are yet to be finalized for the Canada card.
Russian by nationality, UFC champ Valentina Shevchenko once even ended up living in Latin America
Right below the order from Belal Muhammad, UFC champ Valentina Shevchenko returns in the UFC 315 PPV co-main spot. ‘Bullet’ bagged the flyweight gold for another reign from Alexa Grasso at the second annual Noche PPV last September. After reclaiming her flyweight title, she now meets Manon Fiorot for it. The duo had a recent staredown at the kickoff presser and even traded barbs.

UFC 315’s Shevchenko is Kyrgyz but Russian by nationality. However, she is also an adoptive daughter of Peru. To that end, the Team Tiger Muay Thai fighter was even ready to rep the Peruvian flag once in her walkout.
Her relation with Latin America goes far back and away from her origins. People back then were sent out as emissaries. Her grandmother met her husband on one such trip; the family would later end up growing up in Kyrgyzstan. But for a brief while, they found themselves in Latin America.
I’m from Kyrgyzstan, but my nationality is Russian, …Because in the Soviet Union, when there was a Soviet Union like 15 countries, a lot of people from Russia were sent to countries like Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, to develop the culture and my grandmother was one of them.

‘Bullet’ is a diverse pool of talents and naturally has nations rallying behind her. More than once, that has been in Latin America as well. 24-4-1 MMA, and with stats of 13-3-1 in UFC, she meets quite a streaking contender. She feels the tail end of her first reign had bad representation and wants to improve on that, come the Canada event.
Unbeaten in the UFC, Fiorot has bolstered her spot as the No. 1 contender and doused tough challenges. She has even won against former champ Rose Namajunas and Erin Blanchfield. Per FanDuel Sportsbooks, Shevchenko and her challenger are propped even on the money line at -113.
