UFC color commentator/podcaster Joe Rogan once iterated inviting Conor McGregor to UFC grounds before he got to be "The Notorious" one.

Veteran podcaster Joe Rogan holds a variety of hosts and delves into a plethora of topics on his ‘JRE Show’ podcast. With a unique integration of evolutionary psychology, Dr. Gad Saad is a distinguished professor of marketing at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He’s been on Rogan’s podcast a handful of times. On one such occasion, though, the duo deviated from the straight evolution line to talk about one wild character, UFC’s Conor McGregor.

McGregor and his racial slurs, his tweet sprees, X voiceovers, and Khabib Nurmagomedov rivalry are quite famous. Rogan says he once made a call-up to a young McGregor to come over to UFC, long before he was such a notoriety.

I like that Conor McGregor wears diamond, and crusted watches — and drives around a Lamborghini yacht… I fu*king love it! I know, …I know that dude grew up poor…that dude was, uh was struggling early in his MMA career and wasn’t even sure if he was going to continue fighting right. I became a fan of his watching him fight in the UK…I, …uh, watched him fight on on YouTube. I reached out to him like 2013 – I sent him a message saying I hope uh one day you come over to the UFC love to love to see your fights.

Ex-UFC double-division champ Conor McGregor is as “Notorious” as they come. There’s a heavy €1,000 levy on him (2019) for the assault of Desmond Keogh in a Dublin pub. A big hit in the right-wing Trump administration ring, McGregor went viral casually facetiming US First Lady Melania Trump.

The Irishman is a defendant in a lawsuit alleging s*xual misconduct at a 2023 NBA Finals game. Yet he recently, quite nonchalantly, attended the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Utah Jazz games.

However, Rogan says he loves this wild side of the Dubliner. It’s what had made him this bigger than life all over these years. Then there’s also his jazzy pressers and disses. However, news of his combat return and such reasons for fight infamy has been stale since 2021. The UFC star hasn’t fought since his UFC 264 TKO injury loss. Bare-knuckle grind seems a good option for McGregor these days.

Could Conor McGregor fight at BKFC? Dave Feldman is pragmatic

BKFC: KnuckleMania 5 delivered another Conor McGregor viral moment for the organization. The former UFC two-division champion decided to take on Jeremy Stephens in another wild staredown. His electric presence has been anything but meagerly arbitrary for the bare-knuckle franchise.

McGregor was also in attendance and mediated the BKFC on DAZN: Spain weigh-ins in what was the intro to a new country. From that, to reposting Ruben Warr’s 6-second KO at BKFC Fight Night Pechanga. “Notorious” has been a good, solid promoter. Alongside, he has amped up talks about going free agency and joining up. BKFC president Dave Feldman is all in for it but weighs in on the chances realistically.

Anytime you get those kind of moments, it’s awesome, …But I mean, I can’t [make this McGregor fight] obviously unless the UFC wanted to do something with us, and they don’t need us for anything. But maybe they would, right? Other than that, it doesn’t happen.

It might at least be worth broaching the subject of giving McGregor a one-off at BKFC. His blueprint in crossover boxing is something fighters follow even to this day. The match made 4.3 million PPV buys and $55 million in reported live gate! When and ‘where’ Conor McGregor returns, if not at UFC, remains a very strong topic.
