After shooting 70 in the third round, all hope seemed lost for Joel Dahmen. The golfer needed a strong performance in the final round of The RSM Classic to remain in the top 125 of the FedEx Cup standings.
Dahmen entered the season-ending competition at the 124th spot. However, after a frustrating third-round 70 at Sea Island Golf Club, he was projected to fall outside of the top 125 ranking and finish at 128th. Going into the final round, he needed a score of 65 or better to keep his PGA Tour card for the 2025 season.
Dahmen went on fire in a bogey-free round on Sunday. He shot 6-under 64 with four birdies and an eagle while his 2025 season was on the line.
This performance also saw him take a huge leap in The RSM Classic leaderboard. His final round score of 64 took him 26 positions up from T61 to T35.

Joel Dahmen admits wanting to throw up at The RSM Classic
Going into the final round Joel Dahmen knew he had to do something dramatic to keep his 2025 season hopes alive. After securing his status with a final round of 64, he admitted wanting to throw up at The RSM Classic.

The golfer later added that he had more support this week than he ever had. He would call this support as special and hoped to be ready from the start for next season.
Dahmen will now return with the other top 125 FedEx Cup stars for another full year at the PGA Tour next season. However, with the number of exempt members set to cut down from 125 to 100 in the 2026 season, Dahmen will need a much better performance than this to keep his status active for another year.
