Philadelphia 76ers star player Joel Embiid has been making the headlines lately after his recent comments regarding the Boston Celtics star, Jayson Tatum. Notably, Embiid made his feelings known on a recent podcast that his side does not boast the star power in the roster that Tatum and the Celtics have at their disposal.

Embiid aimed a sly jibe towards Tatum and the Celtics, claiming that his side, the 76ers don’t have the luxury to go 5-20 down as they will get blown out. On the contrary, Embiid stressed that Tatum has a superteam and can afford to go 5-20 down. In addition, Embiid also claimed that with the star power on his side, he would win too.

He gives me trouble about Jayson. Well, yeah. He's got a super team. You know what I mean? If I had a super team too, I would win too.

Joel Embiid then agreed to the same.

Interestingly, few people could categorically state that Tatum is a superior player to Embiid in terms of skill. Due to his versatility as a forward, he may be more influential and well-rounded, but Tatum hasn’t shown that he can match Embiid’s productivity, especially with the Cameroonian-American playing in a less talented roster compared to the Celtics.

Jayson Tatum shuts down the noise after NBA title victory

Over the years, Jayson Tatum has shown to be one of the Boston Celtics’ most reliable players in the NBA. Tatum’s consistency was awarded with the Celtics claiming the decorated 2024 NBA title, with Tatum winning his 1st ever NBA title in his career. Notably, Tatum told ESPN reporters that this title win puts an “end” to the debate and noise surrounding him.

There's still a lot of things I guess they can debate. But now I've done something that they can't debate: I've won a championship. Having that under my belt, like obviously it's still conversations to be had or whatever people want to say, but they always got to refer to me as an NBA champion.
