Joel Embiid’s embarrassing turnover costs Sixers win to send fans over the edge – “Eternal lack of common sense!”

The Philadelphia Sixers welcomed the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, giving them a fantastic chance to climb back into the win column. While the Raptors were without RJ Barrett, Brandon Ingram, and Jakob Poeltl due to injuries, the Sixers had all three of their stars available. However, their Big Man, Joel Embiid, had other plans towards the end of the game.

With 20 seconds remaining, the Sixers were down 105-103 due to a shot clock violation by the Raptors. Tyrese Maxey threw it out to an open Embiid on the outer edges after driving the paint and drawing attention. He lost the ball after moving into the paint instead of making the three-pointer, and Raptors guard Gradey Dick got a steal and was fouled. The Sixers lost Tuesday as a result.

This left the Sixers fans fuming as well as disappointed. Mostly because this was a perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways against a poor Raptors’ side. After the game, Embiid admitted the loss was a ‘tough one.’ Additionally, Embid agreed that he should have taken the 3 point shot instead of driving towards the basket.

Apart from Embiid, Maxey also performed below expectations. It wasn’t until 1:49 of the fourth quarter that the star guard made his first field goal, tying the game at 103 with a step-back triple. He went an unsatisfactory 1-for-9 from the field. It wasn’t until 2:27 in the third that he made his first basket from the free-throw line. During the first half, he only attempted two shots. The performance was odd.

Fans left disappointed after witnessing Joel Embiid’s late turnover against Raptors

Many Sixers fans would argue after the game that Joel Embiid gave the Raptors a 106-103 victory. This was by turning the ball over on the game’s most crucial possession against the Raptors. Also, adding another blatant defeat to the Sixers’ season. Their lead guard, Tyrese Maxey, had a terrible game, scoring only five points. This left fans upset.

Many of them did not hold back against their side, as they took to various social media apps to put forward their views. This was especially regarding Embiid’s late turnover against the Raptors. One fan wrote on X, “eternal lack of common sense.” Check out some of the reactions below:

Notably, both Embiid and Maxey have not been looking like their previous versions in the NBA this season.

Both stars have missed major portions of this season through injuries, adding to the turmoil of their organization. Regardless, in an attempt to halt their four-game losing streak, the Sixers will now travel to play the Nets on Wednesday.
