Joel Embiid scored 27 points and 10 rebounds against New York Knicks

Joel Embiid has surely found his grove against Doc Rivers at Philadelphia 76ers. Having a better than ever season opener and then followed by another double-double performance against New York Knicks. Embiid scored 27 points and 10 rebounds in a game which saw Seth Curry and Tobias Harris taking more responsibility offensively. Harris and Curry both scored 17 points each. Whereas newly acquired Danny Green scored the only points from downtown.

Even Ben Simmons had a rebound less to record a double-double with 15 points. Talking about the New York Knicks, their players did not find the basket as easily as the opposition. With only Julius Randle and bench player Alec Burks scoring 25 and 22 points respectively.

Joel Embiid records his 2nd consecutive double-double

This is Embiid’s 2nd consecutive double-double performance. After his elite season opener against the Washington Wizards, Embiid seemed to have gained even more confidence. This surely would ease some pressure off the shoulders of Ben Simmons as well. It was shocking to even note than even though the Sixers did not score many from downtown with a low accuracy rate. New York Knicks recorded an even worse record than the Sixers with only 27.6% accuracy from behind the arc.

Having said that, Sixers have now won 2 on the trot. Whereas the Knicks have lost 2 back-to-back, each on away and home. Knicks need to pull up their socks before they face the big guns in the Eastern Conference, especially after Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving forming a formidable pair in this season for the Brooklyn Nets.
