Stephen A. Smith shares his two cents on Joel Embiid’s contract extension
Embiid’s contract extension may have brought good news to the 76ers fans. Especially, after the situation regarding their team’s rumored move away from the city. One person was always going to have a say in the matter, ESPN’s outspoken analyst, Stephen A. Smith. On a recent episode of ESPN’s First Take, SAS shared his thoughts on the extension.
He deserves every penny. He is a bonafide superstar in this league who's only derailment is health. I watched this man average 35 against the Knicks on one leg. On one leg. He's that gifted. He's that great. You can put Joel Embiid in the argument as being one of the most gifted big men to ever play the game of basketball on the planet earth.Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take
The 76ers will pray that Embiid stays healthy this season and show the form that secured him his only MVP title. The presence of new arrival Paul George and the form of youngster Tyrese Maxey should take the burden off his shoulders a bit.
