Joel Klatt asserted Kansas player’s cheap shot on Shedeur Sanders could have been a “career ender”
Joel Klatt, like other college football experts, agreed the Kansas player nearly derailed Shedeur Sanders' NFL hopes before they started.

FOX Sports College Football analyst Joel Klatt breathed a sigh of relief to see Shedeur Sanders get back up even after a late hit on his knee by a Kansas Jayhawks player on Saturday. From his point of view, this was one of the cheapest shots he had ever seen at the college level.
The Colorado Buffaloes visited Arrowhead Stadium and suffered their third defeat (37-21) of the season. However, the game nearly cost them something even more valuable. Their quarterback.
Midway through the game, a Jayhawks player rammed into Shedeur Sanders’ knee while trying to stop his run. Sanders stayed down for a short moment before resuming the game. Colorado fans initially had a heart-in-their-mouth moment but later expressed anger because the referee didn’t call ‘roughing the passer.’
Joel Klatt watched clips of the tackle to prepare for his latest segment of ‘The Joel Klatt Show’ where he spoke at length. Klatt revealed that he was glad to see Sanders back on his feet and avoid a possible career-ending injury.
"One of the cheapest shots I've seen in a long, long time." ??

Joe Klatt names the NFL team that should draft Shedeur Sanders
The Buffaloes proved many wrong by becoming Bowl-eligible for the first time since 2016 and recording more than five wins in a season since they last did it in 2019. Coach Deion Sanders brought a change to Folsom Park, making the Buffaloes a team to keep an eye on.
Sanders handed the quarterback duties to his son Shedeur, who has thrived under pressure and is among the favorites for the Heisman Trophy. The 22-year-old is also projected to be a top-two pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Klatt believes Sanders has the potential to top in both categories, even though his teammate Travis Hunter remains one of his biggest rivals.

However, Klatt did not specify the name of the New York team. The New York Giants recently released QB 1 Daniel Jones, while there’s the growing possibility of Aaron Rodgers leaving the New York Jets after 2024. The Giants are currently 2-9, and the Jets are 3-8 after 11 games. Both have favorable draft positions to take Sanders.
The Heisman has become a two-horse race, and surprisingly neither are quarterbacks. Boise State’s running back, Ashton Jeanty, is giving Hunter a run for his money.
