It appears there’s a possibility of the Bosa Brothers joining forces on the football field in the near future. The Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker recently revealed a conversation he had with his brother, Nick Bosa, about the subject of playing together.

Joey Bosa had been quite in the news earlier this offseason regarding a potential trade scenario from the Chargers. Although he took a pay cut to remain with his original team, he came to the realization that he wouldn’t be able to remain with the franchise for his entire career.

This compelled the linebacker to talk to his bother, the San Francisco 49ers’ All-Pro linebacker, about teaming up together on the field in the future. He shared the story with Kris Rhim of ESPN on Wednesday.

It'd be cool at some point. I always thought of myself being somebody that will play here and retire here, which I think not many people do on one team and I think would be a cool thing to accomplish, but you never know. I'm going to worry about this year first.
Joey Bosa told Kris Rhim

Even though Joey is looking to explore the possibility of playing elsewhere, he is more inclined towards staying with the Chargers. Nonetheless, it would be quite thrilling to watch the Bosa brothers playing on the same team.

Joey Bosa prioritizes winning games over money

While talking on the subject, the Chargers’ linebacker also revealed the reason why he took a pay cut when the trade rumors began. Given that Joey’s contract was considered a big cap casualty for the Chargers with two years remaining in his five-year contract he signed in 2020 worth $135 million, he thought it was the right thing to do.

Bosa restructured his deal earlier in March to remain with the franchise by taking a pay cut. He will receive a guaranteed base salary of $8 million this year and none in guaranteed sum for 2025, possibly making this year his final season with the team.

I want to win. I want to be on this team. I want another shot with the guys in this room, especially Khalil [Mack]. And winning football games is more important to me right now than making some extra money.
Joey Bosa said

Joey revealed that for him, the priority right now is winning games and not making money. After struggling to play just 14 games in the last two seasons due to injuries, the player is focused on making a solid comeback in the upcoming season, as he believes it can turn things around in his favor.
