Shortly after retaining his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Backlash, John Cena assaulted R-Truth at the press conference.

At Backlash, John Cena and Randy Orton went to war one last time. It was their first singles match in over 8 years, and it had everything. The Cenation Leader somehow came out on top in nearly a half-hour sprint with his wrestling soulmate. Cena later attended the post-show press conference.
Just when the Peacemaker actor was about to answer one of the questions, R-Truth came calling down Cena. The real-life Ron Killings told his childhood hero that he was extremely proud of him and congratulated the Hollywood mogul for retaining his Undisputed WWE title against Orton. Truth said he never gave up on Cena, no matter if the crowd chanted that he sucked and couldn’t wrestle.

It really ticked the champ off. Cena got up and warned Truth by his government name to not utter a single word after having crossed the line already. The former Judgment Day member couldn’t resist the urge to speak again but soon paid the price for it. Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment to the 53-year-old on the table in front of the media associates in the press room.

If that tells anything, things are far from being done between Cena and Truth. That being said, the two are slated to wrestle each other at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, per Cory Hays of Bodyslam. It could possibly be a non-title match. For the unversed, Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect is the cover star for SNME, as previously unveiled by WWE CCO Triple H.
What went down during John Cena vs. Randy Orton at Backlash?
Now that the John Cena and Randy Orton rivalry will forever remain in the history books of WWE, its last chapter was nothing short of epic. These icons had the entire St. Louis crowd at Backlash in the palm of their hands. A couple of referees were also taken out by inadvertent means during the clash. Even R-Truth entered the ring just when The Viper was about to hit a punt kick on The Cenation Leader.

Truth ended up taking an RKO but bought his so-called childhood hero some valuable time to recover. The ending came when Cena decked Orton with the Undisputed WWE title after going low on his rival, got rid of the evidence, and finally beat the hometown favorite. Prior to all of that, The Apex Predator showed no remorse to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis and other backstage producers coming out to check on referee Eddie Orengo, who was downed by Cena.

Aldis could slap yet another fine on Orton for putting his hands on him and several WWE officials. The Legend Killer came agonizingly close to becoming a 15-time World Champion on multiple occasions during the bout. It’d be interesting to see what’s next in store for Orton after the Backlash bummer.
John Cena’s last WWE match has a reported date
As is known to the wrestling audience, John Cena will call it a day on his legendary WWE career at the end of this year. It appears like he finally has a date for that. As per WCVB TV, The Franchise Player will have his last match on December 13 in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts.

While not officially announced, the said date will be the final Saturday Night’s Main Event iteration of the ongoing year. Having said that, there are just about seven months to go until Cena hangs up his wrestling boots for good. But it might not happen until an impending feud with CM Punk.
According to a report from news outlet WCVB, John Cena’s last match is officially scheduled for Boston, MA this December.

The Best in the World has teased coming after Cena’s Undisputed World title. Punk posted on his Instagram Stories that the 48-year-old actor is the champ, for now. They could potentially square off at SummerSlam, as it’s going to be a two-night event for the first time since its inception. Cena vs. Punk, one last time, might be exactly what WWE would need to pack the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
