By the time it’s December next year, John Cena will be done with WWE as an in-ring performer. Having said that, the Peacemaker star wants to make his swansong as memorable as he can. Recently, Cena caught up with talkSPORT. During the conversation, the 47-year-old was asked whether he’d like to wrestle in the United Kingdom before hanging up his boots for good.

Cena said he really hopes so. He reiterated the duration of his retirement tour, which begins this January. Furthermore, the 16-time World Champion hoped there’s some dates in the UK as well as part of that farewell. It was during the Money in the Bank PLE where he dropped the bombshell about his impending retirement. The fans knew it was coming, sooner rather than later.

John’s last match was against Solo Sikoa, who decimated the WWE icon at Crown Jewel in November. As a matter of fact, the Ricky Stanicky actor has yet to register a singles win since 2018. He’s likely to compete in next year’s Royal Rumble match. If he does go the distance to outlast 29 other men in the field, he’d punch his ticket to WrestleMania 41.

I really hope so. As you know, I'm retiring from in-ring performing next year and we'll start in January and we'll do our last match in December 2025. I really hope there are some UK dates involved in that farewell.

As per a recent report from WRKD Wrestling, WWE is planning a marquee match between Gunther and Cena. It’s likely to go down in Las Vegas. However, even if he wins his 17th world title at The Showcase of the Immortals in Sin City, that’d the last WrestleMania he competes in. Apart from a date with The Ring General, reigning Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker has also called out Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect to come and wrestle that belt away from him.

Seth Rollins wants one more match with John Cena

John Cena has already started on numerous occasions that he doesn’t have the leeway to handpick his opponents. However, there’s a queue of names who’re eyeing a showdown with the wrestler-turned-actor once he embarks on his retirement tour.

One such name is Seth Rollins. Speaking on You Heard?, The Visionary adjudged John larger-than-life. Rollins underscored Cena’s accolades and how he never settles for sub-par things. Like one of many, Seth also yearned of getting back in the ring with him one more time before The Cenation Leader calls it a day.

Rollins has been written off television following a vicious onslaught by Bronson Reed on this week’s Raw. He’d be out for an undisclosed amount of time. For those wondering, he’s suffering with some chronic issues and hence will be going on a short break.
