John Cena made a shocking return to WWE at Money in the Bank 2024. The host, Trish Stratus, revealed that the sixteen-time world champion was in the building for the PLE. As such, The Franchise Player strolled down to the ring and dropped a shocking bombshell. Dawning a retirement tour shirt, Cena announced that he is retiring from WWE.

The Cenation Leader took his time to appreciate the WWE Universe in Toronto. Further, he explained that he would hang up his boots in 2025. The wrestler-turned-actor disclosed that he would be on the first Raw on Netflix. In addition to that, he confirmed that he would appear at the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber.

Cena poignantly revealed that next year’s WrestleMania in Las Vegas would be his last. And just like that, the former United States Champion will be saying goodbye to his 25-year professional wrestling career in less than a year. The Toronto crowd at Money in the Bank expressed its gratitude to the legend by chanting, “Thank you, Cena!” For a year, John Cena teased that he was close to retiring and ending his illustrious career.

However, many did not expect the announcement to come this soon. As such, it has left the WWE Universe speechless that the face that used to run the place will no longer be a wrestler after WrestleMania 41. Nonetheless, Cena mentioned that he would divulge more details about his retirement during the press conference.
