In front of a packed Paris La Défense Arena with 30,000 roaring fans, John Cena delivered one of his best performances in years, defeating Logan Paul in a 26-minute epic that solidified Paul as a legitimate main-event star while adding another milestone to Cena’s legendary career. From the moment Cena’s music hit, the Paris crowd created one of the most electric atmospheres in WWE history.

And once the bell rang, both men put on a show. Cena and Paul pulled out all the stops, showcasing rare moves and breathtaking sequences, but in the end, Cena’s patented Attitude Adjustment sealed the deal, earning him his 99th premium live event victory, which puts him just behind The Undertaker, who has 107 wins of his own.

Paul, however, more than held his own. His athleticism was on full display as he flipped over the ropes, escaping Cena’s throws, and putting the veteran in uncomfortable positions throughout the match. At several points, the YouTuber-turned-wrestler seemed on the verge of an upset, even mocking Cena with his own “U Can’t See Me” taunt after a series of punishing slams.

As the match stretched past the 25-minute mark, both men were exhausted, but Paul still managed to pull off a hands-free kip-up, showing that his youth was a serious advantage. Even his infamous titanium-loaded right hand couldn’t keep Cena down. In the closing moments, Cena dug deep, hitting back-to-back Attitude Adjustments before finally pinning Paul for the win.

In a special nod to his history, Cena even busted out iconic moves from his past rivals, the Styles Clash (AJ Styles), End of Days (Baron Corbin), and the Canadian Destroyer, sending longtime fans into a frenzy.

After the match, Cena shared a wholesome moment with the now-famous Brussels kid, whom he had hilariously roasted on Raw after Elimination Chamber 2025, and celebrated at ringside with his wife. He then greeted celebrities Jelly Roll and Post Malone, who were in attendance, capping off a night that fans will be talking about for years.

As already mentioned, John Cena pulled off a special tribute to AJ Styles during his match against Paul at Clash in Paris, hitting the Styles Clash near the end of the bout. Cena later revealed that the move was a nod to the former WWE Champion, admitting he doesn’t expect to face him one last time before his career wraps up.

The moment came after Paul tried to humiliate Cena by using his own Five Knuckle Shuffle and Attitude Adjustment against him. Cena countered and delivered the Styles Clash for a dramatic near fall, which had the French crowd erupting into “phenomenal” chants.

Throughout the match, Cena sprinkled in several other tribute spots. Paul landed a zig-zag in homage to Dolph Ziggler, while Cena not only hit the Styles Clash but also pulled out Angel’s Wings, a move popularized by Christopher Daniels. After the show, Cena explained his motivation.

I’ve had a lot of opponents over the years, and with eight appearances left, I know I’m not going be able to wrestle everybody who’s influential in my career,” Cena stated. “But I think you saw tonight the best way I can say thank you to some of those people who have affected my career, kinda pay homage by taking some stuff and doing stuff I don’t normally do out there. I gotta shout out AJ.

Cena also busted out Corbin’s End of Days during the match, making the Paris crowd part of a night filled with nostalgic tributes. The match marked Cena’s 28th of his planned 36 farewell appearances as part of his 2025 retirement tour, which will conclude with a final match on December 13 at a Saturday Night’s Main Event special.

However, there’s still plenty of excitement ahead. Cena is reportedly set to face Brock Lesnar, who made a shocking return at SummerSlam at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, WWE’s first premium live event on ESPN under their new $1.6 billion streaming deal.

Following his victory over Paul, Cena confirmed that his next appearance will be on the September 5 episode of SmackDown in Chicago. His remaining schedule also includes Wrestlepalooza in September, Crown Jewel in October, and Survivor Series: WarGames in November.
