In case anyone’s wondering why John Cena hasn’t been a mainstay on WWE television since kicking off his retirement tour, he’s currently filming in Hungary. The movie’s principal photography began in January and is yet to wrap up. Even though it has precluded Cena from making additional WWE appearances, John’s putting smiles on faces wherever he can.

A clip that’s been all over social media shows that a number of people gathered to the site where Cena and his co-stars are shooting “Matchbox.” As one could see below, the 16-time World Champion, spruced up in the desired costume, is taking the time to click pictures with his fans. While there’s no word on when he’d be freed from his Hollywood commitments, John will wrestle next on March 1.

He basically received a wildcard entry into this year’s Elimination Chamber match. The Cenation Leader is joined by the likes of CM Punk, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, and either Seth Rollins or Finn Balor will end up as the last man to go in. Amidst such a stacked field, it’s almost strenuous to predict a winner.

Even though a chunk of fans are pinning their hopes on Cena, he might not be in the reckoning as a prohibitive favorite anymore. The Franchise Player wouldn’t stop by any WWE taping before the Elimination Chamber PLE itself. While speaking on the Royal Rumble post-show, the 47-year-old joked about letting his chamber combatants slander his name until D-Day.

The lack of momentum on John’s side is likely to cost him the last opportunity he has to headline WrestleMania 41. If he actually doesn’t pull off an upset, CM Punk is expected to seize the moment and challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE title.

Why are some WWE Superstars upset with John Cena’s upcoming match?

As alluded to above, John Cena didn’t even qualify for the men’s Elimination Chamber match, unlike his fellow competitors. WWE handed him a spot by virtue of his nearly two-decade-long service to the company. But that’s obviously caused trouble in paradise for the Peacemaker actor.

CM Punk has repeatedly mocked his iconic rival for getting a bye into the chamber. Although they couldn’t quite exchange blows at the Royal Rumble, Cena and Punk will go at each other in less than two weeks from now. Another name who’s looking to rain on John’s parade is Drew McIntyre.

After earning his way into the unforgiving 16 ft tall structure, the Scot fired shots on the Ricky Stanicky star. In essence, it’s going to be an uphill climb for Cena when he steps into the ring with five other men who are ravenous for WrestleMania glory.
