John Harbaugh never doubted Lamar Jackson’s abilities as a Top-5 quarterback. In fact, the Baltimore Ravens head coach sounded adamant while declaring Jackson’s chances of being the best ever in the NFL.
Jackson’s pedigree is there for everyone to see. He has never had a losing season since entering the league in 2018. During his second year, Jackson won the unanimous NFL MVP by winning 13 games, crossing 3000 passing yards and 36 passing touchdowns, along with an NFL record 176 carries for 1206 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns.
The 27-year-old bagged his second NFL MVP accolade after another 13-win season in 2023. For the first time in his career, Jackson completed 307 passes for 3678 passing yards and 24 touchdowns, along with 148 carries for 821 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns.
In six seasons, Lamar Jackson has a record of 58-19, but that’s in the regular season. The Louisville graduate’s Achilles heel is the playoffs. In playoffs, he has only 2 wins from 6 games.
Last season, the Ravens appeared to be the team to beat in the AFC. However, they faltered in the championship games, losing to the defending Super Bowl winners, the Kansas City Chiefs. Jackson’s skillset became a question mark as he did not find ways to finish the job.
On top of that, he skipped the OTAs and the minicamp, traveling around the world, which spread doubts about his priorities. Regardless, head coach John Harbaugh stuck by his quarterback and assured that he was on the path to becoming the best in the NFL.
The vision we have together is that Lamar Jackson is going to become [and be known] and be recognized as the greatest quarterback to ever play in the history of the National Football League. It's gonna happen [by Lamar], his work ethic, his brilliant talent, by all of us pouring into that effort together as a team.John Harbaugh said after Sunday’s training camp, per ESPN’s Jamison Hensley

Teammate Mark Andrews announced Lamar Jackson is a special player
Harbaugh wasn’t the only one singing praises for the Ravens quarterback. Veteran tight end Mark Andrews, whose season ended abruptly due to injury, reiterated what the coach said.
Hensley spoke with Andrews after interviewing Harbaugh. The 3 time Pro Bowler revealed Jackson was a special player and the best quarterback in the league.
He’s [Lamar Jackson] the most special player in the world. There’s no one else like him. He’s the best quarterback in the NFL, and he continues to show why [he’s labeled that]. In my head, he’s our captain, our leader. He’s got a heavy burden on his shoulders, but he comes to work every day and has fun.Mark Andrews said

Jackson’s first day at training camp finished early. Harbaugh disclosed that the All-Pro shot caller felt under the weather, so they sent him home.
