Official weigh-ins for UFC 312 took place Friday at UFC Host Hotel in Sydney. The nearby Qudos Bank Arena hosts Saturday’s UFC 312 card. Wang Cong again startled the violence-loving Aussie crowd with her weigh-in ‘Joker’ stint. However, Cong seems to have met her match in Bruna Brasil.

Live streaming started at 3:30 a.m. ET. Bruna Brasil (125.5) and opponent Wang Cong (125) both successfully weighed in for the late prelims. Team Fighting Nerds’ Bruna Brasil came dressed as the lethal vigilante, ready to stop the Chinese fighter in her tracks.

Wang Cong is prone to winning the internet with her chaotic ‘Joker’ makeup gimmick. She’s done it twice so far and even lived up to the hype. She even rallied for a neat $50k post-fight performance bonus after UFC Vegas 96. But Brasil came prepped in what looked like an airsoft “Dark Knight” mask and it was quite the fighter face-off!

One of the UFC’s biggest upsets of 2024 comes in under Cong. In the return to UFC Macau in China, Wang Cong (-950) was a heavy favorite on the money line. However, underdog Gabriella Fernandes defeated her via submission (rear-naked choke) in quite the upset! Bruna Brasil is looking to channel a similar fallout and their face-to-face has gone quite viral.

The UFC 312 ceremonial weigh-ins and fighter faceoffs ahead of Saturday are in the books. Two title fights cap off the night; Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland have their hyped rematch. They had quite the willful staredown at the weigh-ins. Yet, it was Wang Cong and Bruna Brasil who stole the show with their comically accurate cosmetic choices.

DWCS alum Brasil is part of a breakout array of stars from Team Fighting Nerds who took 2024 by storm. Brasil (10-4-1 MMA, 2-2 UFC) moves up to the women’s flyweight after quite the tenure at strawweight. She has high hopes of derailing the hype that is Cong (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC).

The ‘Joker’ already had her six-fight win streak snapped. It’s another thing if she will or not; as they say though – “dress for the job you want.” Here is what fans think of ‘Batman’ showing up to confront the ‘Joker’ at the weigh-ins.

Some fans have subsequently quipped that fighters need to similarly answer Alex Pereria’s Pataxó makeup and headgear. Meanwhile, others have called such gimmicky faceoffs cringe, to say the least. Even others have said that after the failure of ‘Joker 2’, such a cosplay goes down in the gutter. However, all in all, fans have lauded the staredown between studs.
