Jon Jones was active on social media, discussing various topics, including his desire for the “right” opponent for his next fight. Jones has often sought a fight that would further elevate his status in the promotion. For this reason, the heavyweight champion has also chosen to ignore a title unification fight against Aspinall. While Jones believes that Alex Pereira is the most appealing opponent, Ngannou wants to change his perspective.
According to the former UFC heavyweight champion, a fight between him and Jones has the potential to significantly elevate the stature of both fighters in the sport of MMA. Interestingly, a few years back, there were several discussions about a fight between Ngannou and Jones when the Predator was an active UFC fighter.

Daniel Cormier analyses Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou’s potential fight
Jon Jones is a veteran of the MMA community. Over the years, he has established a reputation for himself by defeating numerous formidable opponents, primarily in the UFC light heavyweight division. Last year, Jones transitioned to the heavyweight division, where Francis Ngannou stood out as one of the top fighters.

Most recently, Jones fought at UFC 309 and defeated former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. Notably, Jones made light work of the veteran heavyweight Miocic, winning the match by KO/TKO. Referencing this fight, Daniel Cormier shared his thoughts on how a potential matchup between Jones and Ngannou might unfold.
Francis (Ngannou) would have struggled with Jones. Dude, he (Jon Jones) threw Stipe down and just beat the cr*p out him. He literally grabbed him by the neck, stepped behind his leg and threw him down. He choke-slammed him and just beat him on the ground.

Although Jones is new to the heavyweight division, he has decisively defeated two formidable opponents in his last two fights. Due to this, along with Cormier, even Chael Sonnen believe that Jones has the capability to overpower a top heavyweight like Ngannou. Recently, the CEO of PFL also mentioned the potential for this exciting matchup, making it intriguing to see how events will unfold.
