Tuesday night’s encounter between the Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils set off some fireworks. A fierce fight between heavyweights Jonah Gadjovich and Brenden Dillon captured the attention of fans from this thrilling encounter.

With the game at 1-1 in the second period, both teams were looking for an opening to take the lead and get ahead in the game. In this tense moment, a fight broke out between Gadjovich and Dillon near the Devils’ goal.

After Dillon blocked off Gadjovich, the two players exchanged a few words. Soon, they would drop the gloves and start brawling.

During this fight, Dillon and Gadjovich threw several punches at each other while trying to knock the other down on the ground. Ultimately, Gadjovich emerged as the winner of the bout as he pummeled down the Devils’ man.

The two players received a five-minute major penalty for their actions. After the game, Gadjovich spoke about this encounter and admitted that he saw “nothing” as his jersey was over his head.

He stepped up and we were both willing to go. It ended up being a good fight. Nothing but respect for him, and it seemed to get the fans into it… I saw nothing.

Meanwhile, Dillon stated that Gadjovich was the one who asked him to fight and hilariously admitted that he stopped counting the punches after 20. As per John Buccigross, the 26-year-old left winger threw 37 punches at the Devils’ defenseman.

I stopped counting at 20, so I don’t know. We didn’t have a whole lot going there the first 10. He’s a physical player. We were in front of the little battle there and then, you know, I just couldn’t say no.

Brenden Dillion said

Gadjovich might have won the fight, but he ended up losing the match. The Devils would go on to win the game 4-1 and claim another victory in this season.
