“I think it’s gonna be,” Wrestling veteran predicts John Cena’s last WWE opponent in his upcoming retirement tour
An ex-WWE personality has proffered his two cents on who could be John Cena's antagonist in his wrestling swansong.

It’s a well-known fact that John Cena will be done wrestling by the end of 2025. Before riding off into the sunset, he’d embark on a WWE retirement tour. There’s already been tons of chatter regarding the litany of opponents who could possibly bump into the 16-time World Champion. But no one has really delved into who would ultimately walk John into retirement, once and for all.
Former commentator Jonathan Coachman has a perfect fit for that role. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Coach said he’d have to believe that Randy Orton will be the last WWE opponent of John Cena. He continued saying Orton’s made him proud through his illustrious career and how he’s matured as a human being. As for Cena, Jonathan revealed that they used to travel together back in the day.
Coachman was floored by John’s conviction of thoughts, no matter if he doesn’t tend to agree with The Cenation Leader’s choice of Roman Reigns being the greatest of all time. Anyways, the 51-year-old is under the impression that Cena’s had his entire farewell tour mapped out in advance.
It can’t be stressed enough how badly the fans are clamoring for The Franchise Player to lock horns with his longtime rival Orton at next year’s WrestleMania. Other names who have shown interest in treading the same path include one of John’s greatest wrestling soulmates, CM Punk.
Their world title match at Money in the Bank from 2011 is rated as an all-time classic. Is there a possibility the Peacemaker star could run into The Rock as well? Who knows if the recent Fruity Pebbles diss from The Final Boss might rile John up?
What could WrestleMania 41 look like for John Cena?
The earliest John Cena seems to be returning to WWE is on the debut episode of Raw on Netflix. He has already confirmed his presence for the show that’s slated to emanate from the Intuit Dome on January 6.
He might as well be an odds-on favorite to win next year’s Royal Rumble match. That’d enable him to book a date with the world champion of his choosing in the main event of WrestleMania 41.
Having previously reported that Gunther is one of the names WWE has in mind to pit against the wrestler-turned-actor, it could happen at The Showcase of the Immortals itself.
That’d perfectly set Cena up to make a case for capturing a world title in WWE for the 17th time. If that does happen, the Ricky Stanicky actor will overtake Ric Flair in the list of wrestlers with most title reigns ever.
