Golden State Warriors star Jonathan Kuminga has been dealing with a lot lately, from doubts over his future to a recent ankle injury. In the second quarter of the Warriors’ 121-113 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, the 22-year-old injured his right ankle. The bad news came from an MRI on Sunday: the sprain was deemed “significant,” and he won’t be assessed again for at least three weeks, meaning he will miss at least 11 games.
In addition to his, Kuminga also shared his views on his future in a conversation with Anthony Slater of The Athletic. Kumina reassured the DubNation that the Warriors is ‘where his future lies.’ However, anything can happen during the trade market and also until the Warriors don’t extend Kuminga’s contract in the coming weeks.
I feel good. You never know what’s going to happen, but I’m pretty confident this is where I’m at.

After one unlucky landing, Kuminga’s momentum suffered. He had been developing into a consistent scoring option with Stephen Curry until he collided with Grizzlies forward Jake LaRavia while pushing for a rebound. Kuminga had scored 30 points in three games in recent weeks and was averaging a remarkable 20.5 points per game, which Steve Kerr called the best period of his developing career.
The day after his injury, Kuminga reported feeling better and even joked, “I’m still young, so my body heals quicker,” about the Warriors’ recommended three-week recuperation period. He did, however, state that he intended to follow the training staff’s instructions during his recuperation.

Kuminga was a topic of discussion at the press conference led by Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. Kerr shared an injury update candidly.
It’s a sprained ankle, It’s not gonna be a day-to-day thing. It was a significant sprain.

According to Kerr’s statement, Kuminga’s injury won’t be short. As a result, the Warriors forward will probably miss a significant number of games(almost 11). To begin with, the young player for the Warriors has been playing well lately.
Kuminga has shot 48.1 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from outside the arc in his previous 14 games, averaging 20.5 points per game. It remains to be seen how he recovers going forward into the season.
