Jonathan Owens is setting major husband goals as he’s not getting tired of cheering for his wife and the legendary gymnast Simone Biles, who is competing at the Paris Olympics 2024. And soon, he will land in Paris to show support for her.
The Chicago Bears’ newly-signed safety would have been in Paris way before, but due to his professional commitment to the NFL with training camp going on, he couldn’t get the time off until this Monday, July 29. The Bears are aiming for a comeback season in the upcoming NFL season with many new additions to the team and training camp is a crucial part of their preparation. Therefore, it took Owens time to negotiate some time off.
Even though he couldn’t be for his ladylove physically, he made sure that she knew he was supporting her from home. The gymnastic G.O.A.T. is currently ranked at the very top in all-around standing, having one more qualification round to be conducted.
Her proud husband shared several videos of Biles at the Paris Olympics on his Instagram story and wrote, “We locked in” with a blue heart emoji. In each of his stories, he complimented the seven-time Olympic gold medalist with words of appreciation, calling her performance ‘flawless.’
In the final story, he wrote, “Let’s go baby” for his wife after she secured first place with her uneven bar exercises with a total score of 172.296.
Jonathan Owens shares heartfelt reason for joining Bears
Speaking of the love birds, last week on July 25 after practice, the safety shared one of the biggest reasons why he moved to Chicago by signing with the Bears. And the reason of course is his wife, Biles. He shared that by moving to the Windy City, he can get some time off to see her compete in the Olympics.
Obviously the Olympics were coming up and you know who my wife is. It was all respectful. We went to them and asked, ‘We’d really appreciate if he could go to support his wife.’Jonathan Owens said via Yahoo! Sports
He also admitted to being “super nerve-wracking” as Biles could get hurt during any of her exercises. And he wasn’t wrong as well, because she actually injured her leg while warming up for the floor exercise. Despite that, she made America proud by making Team USA rank in the first position.
