The upcoming 2024 season marks a new era for the Minnesota Vikings as their star quarterback Kirk Cousins has moved to the Atlanta Falcons. At present, the team has to decide who will lead their offense between JJ McCarthy and Sam Darnold.
Regardless of the uncertainty surrounding the starting quarterback position, there’s no doubt the Vikings hold a strong position in the league in terms of their offensive weapons. The biggest part of that is All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson– who recently became the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league’s history and has been posting 1000+ yards per season consecutively while leading the NFL in catches last year.
Considering, the reliable offense the Vikings have and the chance that the former National Championship winner with a 27-1 record can become the signal-caller, WR Jordan Addison expressed his firm faith in his team and put his money on their opening victory against the New York Giants.
It happened on a social media post by the Vikings, where they posted a video from the team’s offseason practice session, on which Giants fans were seen trash-talking prior to the exciting Week 1 match. The second-year wide receiver took it as a challenge when he came across a comment claiming the Vikings would lose in the opening week.
How much you wan betJordan Addison replied on the comment.
Even though the Vikings overall didn’t post a fine season last year after their star quarterback suffered a season-ending injury, Addison recorded an impressive rookie season. He posted 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns in the 14 games he started.
Jordan Addison complimented Justin Jefferson’s mentorship
The Vikings’ star receiver is truly the definition of self-confidence as when the team drafted Addison for the starting position, Jefferson was expected to react negatively. But he was actually the opposite and instead, he helped out the rookie in training and prepping him for big games.

A really humble superstar. I feel like he did a good job of coaching me up and making sure I was prepared.Jordan Addison said about Justin Jefferson during an interview with Metro Sport
Seeing this initiative by the three-time Pro Bowler, the Vikings have placed the newly-drafted JJ McCarthy’s locker next to Jefferson’s. They believe the receiver is the perfect person to give a helping hand to the rookie quarterback.
