It’s that time of the year when Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk releases his tentative list of quarterbacks on the hot seat before the new campaign. The list contained the usual suspects (Kyler Murray, every Browns quarterback, and Russell Wilson), but at the same time, there were a couple of surprising entries, like the Packers’ Jordan Love.
Love is gearing up to start his third straight year as the Packers’ main guy and second year after signing the mammoth $55 million-a-year extension. The amount proved the Packers’ faith in the 26-year-old, but Florio, in his latest assessment, raised questions.
[Jordan Love’s] not on the hot seat per se, but he needs to play better in 2025 than he did in 2024. If not, he will be on the hot seat in 2026. The wild card in Green Bay is new CEO Ed Policy, who operates as the de facto owner of the team.

Love nearly had the worst possible start in 2024 after spraining his ankle in Brazil. The implications weren’t positive, but Love made a quick recovery and missed only two games.
It impacted Love’s numbers. He failed to match the same intensity of the 2023 season but still finished with a respectable 63.1% pass completion for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
These numbers are slightly misleading. Florio pointed out that Jordan Love is not in the hot seat in 2025 because it wasn’t entirely his fault that the Packers had a mixed-bag season. A below-average season by the receivers played a big part. The Packers’ receiver core dropped 33 (third most, tied with the Giants) passes. Only the Browns and the Jets had worse numbers.
Pro Football Focus gave Love an elite 90.4 passing grade since week 8. In that duration, he had 27 big-time throws and just 10 turnover-worthy plays. The Packers won five out of their final eight games in the regular season. PFF expects more of the same in the following years.
Despite the praise, Packers fans should not forget that their team fell off a cliff in the final few weeks. They lost three consecutive games against divisional rivals, the Vikings and Bears, and a 22-10 wild-card loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in which Love threw three picks.
Jordan Love’s new innings may bring some much-needed good luck
During the offseason, the love of Jordan’s life said yes to him, and they decided to make it official. According to reports, Love tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend and pro volleyball player, Ronika Stone, in a beautiful wedding at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, overlooking the ocean.

Love and Stone jointly shared the news on Instagram.
Several team members of both athletes attended the wedding, except for one. Love’s predecessor at Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers, was nowhere to be seen. Rodgers’ former teammate, David Bakhtiari, who enjoyed Love’s special day, called out the future Hall of Famer for ditching the event.
Controversies aside, the wedding might just be the turning point Love needs in his NFL career. Lady Luck always comes handy in sticky situations.

The Packers will be one of the teams to keep an eye on this year. They won’t travel to Brazil, unlike last year, but the first two games against the Lions and the Commanders will provide a general idea about how their season might turn out.
