Jorginho critics former manager Frank Lampard’s playing style and praises N’golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has taken an indirect dig at former manager Frank Lampard’s tactics by stating that Thomas Tuchel’s tactics suit him better. The blues recently registered a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League to progress through to the quarter finals.
Jorginho speaks about Thomas Tuchel and his teammates
Jorginho believes that Thomas Tuchel’s possession game is much suitable to his playing style and allows him to create more with the ball. In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Jorginho says that former manager Frank Lampard’s long ball game didn’t go down well with him.
Chelsea used more of a counter attack type tactic under Frank Lampard and never really had any compact plan going forward. Although they haven’t been prolific under Thomas Tuchel, they look much more menacing and likely to score.
Jorginho also heaped praise on his fellow teammates Matteo Kovacic and N’golo Kante and believes that communication between the midfield two is of utter importance. Chelsea re yet to be beaten under Thomas Tuchel and are now 13 games unbeaten and have conceded just twice.
“The coach wants us having control of the game, playing from behind, even when the pressure comes. “So, for me, it’s a good way to play football that I like and enjoy, and I think it’s better for my characteristics than playing long balls, and second balls.
“When it’s Kova [Mateo Kovacic], his style is to play short, to come, so I know if he wants to play one-two or when he wants some space to move forward and to dribble.
“So, I just try to help him, either give him the space, or come over to help him and give him an option – whatever he needs to get out of the situation.
