Jos Buttler
With Jos Buttler’s 150 plus score, England rewote history when they slammed the highest ever ODI score of 498/4 in the history of cricket against the Netherlands in Amstelveen. They had previously held this record against Australia after smashing 481/6.
Jos Buttler smashed an impressive 162* runs off just 70 balls with incredible 14 sixes and seven boundaries at a mighty strike rate of 231.43. He scored the second fastest 150 scores (65 balls), just a ball behind the legendary AB de Villiers (64 balls) against West Indies in 2015; Buttler also occupies the third position after samshing a 76-ball 150 against West Indies in 2019. He also smashed his second fastest hundred (47 balls) for England. The first belongs to him only when he scored a 46-ball century against Pakistan. Even the third-fastest hundred belongs to Buttler against the same team Pakistan with his 50-ball century for England.
This century is also the second-fastest one in the history of ODI cricket. Again, de Villiers stands at the top with his 31-ball century. England tops the list of all-time highest scores in the first, second and third position with their 498/4 (vs the Netherlands), 481/6 (vs Australia), and 444/3 (vs Pakistan).
Meanwhile, other two batsmen Dawid Malan and Phil Salt scored their maiden ODI tons with their 125 and 122 runs respectively. The dangerous batsman Liam Livingstone once again displayed his power and comfortably scored an unbeaten 66 runs off just 22 balls, making him stand fifth on the all-time list of fastest fifty, which is topped by de Villiers. In the end, England bowled out the Dutch for 266 runs in the 49.4 overs and won the first ODI by 232 runs.
