Never change, Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager is an icon both on and off the pitch, and he has been so quiet for some time.
The newly appointed Fenerbahçe manager had quite a lot to say after Real Madrid won the Champions League by two goals to none against Borussia Dortmund. Wembley was witness to yet another triumph by the men in white as Mourinho shared his thoughts on the final.
Halfway into an interview, Mourinho and his interviewer spotted Arsene Wenger making his way across the stadium in the distance. As the latter explored the possibility of bringing Wenger on board, Mourinho didn’t hold back from taking a cheeky dig at his old rival.
Ask him about what he wants to do with the offside (rule). Oh my God, let me go before please.Jose Mourinho said in an interview
Jose Mourinho was taking aim at Wenger’s plan to alter the offside rule, which has been met with significant criticism. Wenger went head-to-head with Mourinho during their time in the Premier League, when they were in charge of Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti takes pride in ‘special’ achievement
Winning the UEFA Champions League may seem like another day in the office for Real Madrid players. The Los Blancos lifted their 15th UCL title as they beat Borussia Dortmund by two goals to none.
Following the full-time whistle, a jubilated Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press, revealing his feelings after the win. Following yesterday’s win, Ancelotti became the most successful manager in the competition, with five titles to his name.
It seems quite normal, but it's not. It's something special for this club to be able to win six Champions Leagues in ten years. It's difficult to win, like today against Borussia Dortmund.Carlo Ancelotti said in an interview
The Italian manager also claimed that Dortmund were the better side in the first 45 minutes and that his side had to calm themselves and take control.
Ancelotti and his men clinched the unbelievable record of having played 6 finals in 10 seasons, and not tasting defeat in a single one. As it stands, Madrid are now at least 8 titles clear of every other club in the world when it comes to UCL titles. With Kylian Mbappe set to join them next season, the only way they’ll be going is up!
