Jose Mourinho, being one of the wittiest of managers in the footballing circuit, took a sharp dig at his former club, Tottenham Hotspur after his current club, Fenerbahce will have to be a part of the qualifiers for the Champions League, a stage, which he said, he had never experienced before.

However, moments later, with a smirk on his face, he pointed out that this was the second time, that he is going to be a part of the qualifying stages. The first was with Tottenham Hotspur when he had to play three qualifiers to be a part of the Europa League.

This is not the first time for me, it is the second time. I sometimes forget about Tottenham, that I played with them in the qualifiers. This is the second time this has happened to me, but it's the first time I'm starting the season in a summer month when there is a European Championship and a World Cup.
Jose Mourinho said in a pre-tour presser ahead of Fenerbahce’s trip to Lille

During his stint at Tottenham, Mourinho landed 44 wins from the 86 games that his team played and helped them to secure a spot in the Europa after he took over the reins from the former coach, Mauricio Pochettino. Sadly for the Portuguese manager, he was sacked on the eve of Spurs’ clash with Manchester City at Wembley, the best chance that the club had to win a trophy in 13 years.
