Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho once again used his famous ‘prefer not to speak’ lines during a post-match conference following the club’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United. The 61-year-old manager took a sarcastic jibe at the referee, following the heated UEL encounter.
Jose Mourinho was dramatically sent off during Fenerbahce’s match against his former club for protesting against referee Clement Turpin‘s decision to not awarding a penalty. It was when Manuel Ugarte fouled Bright-Osayi Samuel inside the penalty box, the referee brushed aside appeals from the Fenerbahce players. He watched the rest of the match, later revealing the details of the conversation that he had with Turpin at the end of the game while questioning him about the red card decision.
Mourinho sarcastically labeled Turpin as the ‘best referee in the world’. Using his famous ‘prefer not to speak’ lines, the ex-Chelsea boss exclaimed that the referee claimed to have simultaneously seen the action inside the penalty box as well as his behavior on the sidelines, leading to the red.
Humorously terming this skill as incredible, Mourinho added that he wished to manage a club which did not play in UEFA competitions, while expressing his disgust at the refereeing standards during the matches.
I congratulate him because it’s absolutely incredible. His peripheral vision during the match, 100 mph, he had one eye on the penalty situation and another on the bench watching my behavior.

This is the second time that the Portuguese manager used his iconic lines in his year-long Fenerbahce stint. Mourinho had previously used these lines while slamming referees following the Turkish side’s exit from the Champions league play-off stages.
Jose Mourinho hails Manchester United star after draw against his side Fenerbahce
Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho was full of praise for Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, following a 1-1 draw between the two sides. Christian Eriksen had struck a goal for the Red Devils during the match, with Youssef En-Nesyri equalizing later on.

Andre Onana produced a stunning double save to deny Fenebahce from scoring a goal in the first half. He also made another spectacular save, while recording 24 accurate passes. Mourinho later stated that the Red Devils were ‘saved’ from a defeat by Onana, while describing his display as something ‘impossible’. Moreover, he confidently exclaimed that his team was better than United, underlining the good results.
Onana made two incredible saves in our fantastic initial period. Come on, he saved the result… He made two impossible saves.

He also stated that it was a hard-earned point for the Red Devils. Additionally, the 61-year-old claimed that Fenerbahce would destroy every other team in the European competition and the Turkish League, if they continued playing in the same manner.
